Ryan moved to the island of Oahu and got a job as a captain at a 4 star French restaurant called Patavaris. He also got a second job with a tourism company taking people from their hotels up into the jungle to swim in the waterfalls. Ryan and Jennifer spoke daily during this time and made plans for Jennifer to join him on Oahu. Jennifer told Ryan that she was married and in the process of divorcing her husband, who was in jail for beating her. Jennifer could not leave the Temecula area at that time, so plans changed – and Ryan considered going back to Temecula to be with Jennifer.
